If you are looking for a small, cozy hostel with a lot of Spanish personality, and a lot of local guests at the bar and the restaurant all day - it's a perfect choice - in - maybe the most beautiful Bordertown in Europe. Portbou is unique. Very small, old, Spanish town - with af small beach - and - surrounded - by the Pyrenees. No matter is you want to go north - towards France - or south - towards Spain - it's uphill the Pyrenees. Hostal Juventus is value for money.

Nice little hotel very close to the beach. It is a bit worn, but clean and comfortable nevertheless. Walking distance also from the Portbou train station for connections to France or Barcelona. Pizzeria on ground flour and some basic restaurants around the corner.

Great location. Friendly check in. Shower and general facilities could do with updating but in general was a great stay.

It was the perfect place to start our walk. We arrived later than anticipated and the staff were lovely and got some food together for us.

I like that Hostal Juventus is a like a youthhostel with private rooms. Bathroom and diningroom are shared and you can opt to make your own meals ( microwave, toaster, watercooker and fridge provided in the kitchen-diningroom) or have a meal in the pizzaria downstairs.

The location was terrific, right up near the waterfront of the bay. The staff were friendly and attentive. The hostal was clean. The food in the bar was.good quality as was the service. Some of the furniture was a little basic but we came to the conclusion that the effects of Covid meant that it has been difficult for the owners to break even and have sufficient funds to invest more. There were small things which showed an understanding of what people might need, like a kettle and teabags and coffee in each room. There is also a small living room with a fridge and a communal tv. This gave us the impression that the owners were trying to meet possible visitors needs, however, the cutlery and accessories were limited to the bare minimum. Nevertheless, overall, we enjoyed our stay.

good value for money!! To have my own room for the same amount that most hostels charge for a dorm! And room has kettle, and you have access to a kitchen (although I don’t think there was really cooking facilities). My room was quiet. And they let me leave my luggage whilst I walked along coast to Llanca (I recommend!)
