The Hotel Reception is located up a flight of steps from the road and there is an additional flight of steps to reach the rooms on the first floor and second floor. Due to the age of the building, there is no lift and the stairs inside are narrow and steep. There are no ground floor rooms and there is no wheelchair access.
This is an adult-only hotel.
Dogs are welcome in selected rooms, please contact the property for further information.
Guests are welcome to park in the Hotel's Private Car Park from 11am on their day of arrival.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

The Claremont was spotlessly clean . Our room was very comfortable Staff were friendly and the lady who served breakfast “Di” was exceptional

Excellent choice of breakfast options, delightful staff very welcoming and helpful. Room was beautiful with fridge, iron, hairdryer etc and lovely washing products. Room very clean and comfortable. Excellent location.

Great service. Check in was supposed to be 4pm but room was ready for 2pm. Girl in reception was very professional. Di who served breakfast was a star. Food was lovely.

We have stayed at the Claremont many times and have always loved our stay - didn’t think it could improve, but the newer owners have improved the comfort and the staff are lovely and friendly and helpful.

As the hotel is in an old building it was nice that the room was a decent size, as we also had our dog with us. Room was nicely clean and the bed comfy. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Nice touches with good quality products in the room as well as fresh milk for tea and coffee. Also for the dog, towels to wipe her down, as this was mid winter, and the treat at breakfast were appreciated. Breakfast was excellent for the adults too, made to order with great produce.

Central location with parking ,staff provided top level of service ,breakfast variety cooked well,rooms warm and cosy ,access to tea and coffee all day along with some thoughtful touches stay was a demonstration of how to run a small hotel successfully

Everything was perfect, from beautiful rooms, bedding, tea/coffee/biscuits…wonderful bathroom and the owners and staff were brilliant. Parking has to be a huge bonus and excellent comms for arrival.
