Everything was perfect! For the last several months I'm frequently traveling to Plovdiv and I've got to know most of the hostels. There was always something off - smell, bed bugs, etc, but Hakuna matata is perfect. The staff is very friendly, we chatted, we played chess. It's very easy to be social there. I've gone to a pub wiith two of the guests. Best hostel in Plovdiv hands down.

The property was perfectly described online. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and Kind. The beds were extremely comfortable, warm and cosy. The shower was always Hot and great pressure, big open shower too. Breakfast was delicious everyday and even some days the staff offered to cook me dinner which tasted amazing! I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone thinking of solo travelling or even a couple that want to connect with young creative like-minded individuals.

Nice hostel just 5 min walk from the main pedestrian street. The staff was very friendly and the facilities were good too. It got really cold in the room in the evening and there was no heater in the room, but we were able to use the heater function on the AC. The breakfast was included and they can even provide you with a towel free of charge.

Hakuna Matata has a great sociable vibe combined with central location, well-equipped kitchen, clean facilities and renovated dorms. A free breakfast is included, usually pancakes or eggy-bread with jams and fresh fruit. the common area has a balcony and there is a terrace with nice views on the upper floor. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. Special mention must go to Anouk the scottish volunteer aka "The Angel of Plovdiv"! Obviously the dynamic does depend on who is staying at any given time, but I would definitely stay again!

Wonderful vibe from the owner who creates the adequate atmosphere for guests to interact in the lovely terrace (good home made food at an excellent price, drinks, music, etc....). Different activities are offered in the evenings (group walks, etc...). The breakfast was simple but brilliant to start the day as well! :)

Vibe and location of the hostel is great, staff was nice and helpful. They prepared great breakfast in the morning, I was nicely surprised.

The place is very nice and perfect for relaxing as Plovdiv is not really a party city. The atmosphere was nice and chill. The place is quite dirty though, all the dishes had to be rewatched when I wanted to use them but not a big issue for me. Location is great. The free breakfast was nothing special but a nice touch.
