Hotel Overview

Nestled in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, Fonab Castle, refurbished and opened in 2013, boasts luxurious rooms, scenic views, mature gardens, free WiFi, free parking, and 2 restaurants.
Each individually designed room has been decorated sympathetically to blend a contemporary style with the original room features. The elegant en suite bathroom has a spacious walk-in power shower, bathrobes, slippers, and Thierry Mugler toiletries. Luxury Egyptian cotton, a flat-screen smart TV with Revo entertainment system, a Nespresso coffee maker, tea making facilities, fresh fruit and mineral water are also included. Some rooms offer views of the Loch Faskally or of the Highlands’ landscape.
Fonab Castle Hotel has 2 on-site restaurants; the Fonab Brasserie offering lighter meals and the Sandemans Fine Dining Restaurant for a sophisticated dining experience. On warmer days, diners may enjoy an al fresco dinner on the terrace overlooking the loch. The cellars boast a great selection of wines, whiskies and gins.

Located in the castle's modern wing, this room offers views of Loch Faskally and the Highlands. This room has luxury Egyptian cotton linens, bathrobes, slippers and Thierry Mugler toiletries. A 42-inch smart TV with Revo entertainment system, a Nespresso coffee maker, tea/coffee making facilities, and mineral water are also included. The elegant en suite bathroom features a walk-in power shower. Some rooms are on the ground floor with French doors leading to a decking area with direct access to the Loch. Rooms may also be on the first floor and they feature balconies overlooking the Loch. Please note pets cannot be accommodated in this room type.

Boasting a double-size bed with luxury Egyptian cotton linen, it also offers a 42-inch smart TV with an entertainment system and a Nespresso coffee maker. Situated in the castle's modern South Wing, this suite boasts French sliding doors with direct access to either a large patio or 2 balconies. Each room has a king-size bed, luxury Egyptian cotton linens, bathrobes, slippers and Thierry Mugler toiletries. A 42-inch smart TV with Revo entertainment system, a Nespresso coffee maker, tea/coffee making facilities, and mineral water are also included. The elegant en suite bathroom features a walk-in power shower. This suite overlooks the woodland. Please note pets cannot be accommodated in this room type.

Fonab Castle’s flagship Penthouse Suite is located on the castle’s fourth floor with views over the Perthshire Highlands. Inside, Ulf Mortiz glass studded wallpaper adorns the walls which are decorated in muted velvet creams. The separate dressing room with power shower adds extra luxury. The room comes with high vaulted wooden ceiling, original panelled walls and 7ft Dickens Nickel bed. Please note pets cannot be accommodated in this room type.

Woodland Lodge Double Room - enter dates to see room photos

The Woodland Rooms are located in the Lodge Building which is adjacent to the main hotel. It features a double bed and floor to ceiling windows with wooden shutters. The rooms come with either a patio or balcony with table and chairs. Please note that this room does not face the Loch. Dogs are welcomed in these rooms, charge of GBP 30 per dog per night applies.

This is a spacious room with contemporary décor. There is a 7ft bed and a sitting area with sofa and armchairs, located in the lodge building adjacent to the Hotel. The room comes with floor to ceiling windows offering views over Loch Faskally towards Ben Vrackie and Craigower Hill. The spacious en-suite comes with a waterfall bath and separate shower. There is also a 55 inch LCD TV, Nespresso coffee machine, entertainment system, Egyptian cotton linen, choice of pillows, bathrobes, slippers, toiletries, mineral water and hospitality tray featured in all rooms. Please note pets cannot be accommodated in this room type.

This room comes with contemporary décor and a king size bed located in the lodge building adjacent to the hotel. There are floor to ceiling windows with views over the hotel grounds and the rooms have either a patio or balcony. The en-suite comes with a large shower. Wonderful stay, big comfy bed and room, lovely temple spa soaps etc, spa facilities relaxing, staff at reception were great, very friendly, but most impressed by the concierge on duty during our stay, Mark and Davey - made us feel very welcome.

Great stay and very relaxing break. The bar and restaurant were ideal, and the staff all friendly and attentive! My feedback would be that you should fix the staff door on the third floor, as we were in Room 304... the constant bang everytime the door shut was unfortunately quite annoying and meant getting a sleep-in during our break wasn't possible. We also had quite an ideal trying to find a car charger that worked in Pitlochry... whilst many were reasonably close, they weren't all working. Ideally your onsite chargers should really be working for a 5star hotel... The spa was lovely and my partner loved her massge. Thankyou and would definitely come back... as long as door fixed and/or not in Room 304 ;)

A charming establishment located in Pitlochry, featuring a river view and lush, green surroundings. The staff is courteous but not very attentive to customer requests.
