I don't think you could find hosts that are more informative, welcoming and friendly than Pedro and Sara. The hostel has been smartly refurbished and everything is neat and spotlessly clean An included help yourself breakfast with tea or coffee is a wonderful bonus The hostel is well located for easy access from the station and for shops, cafes and restaurants in town. The walks in the surrounding hills are fantastic and we loved our mid walk olive oil and wine tasting at D'Origem We are 60 and not typical hostel users but for all of the above reasons, there is nowhere else we would consider when we return and we highly recommend Hostel Douro to everyone.

Set in a beautiful part of the Douro valley not far from the station. Only stayed one night but will definitely be back! Hosts live on site and are so friendly.

Pedro and his girlfriend Sara were extremely hospitable. They were a fountain of information explaining where to go, the best places to eat and how best to enjoy the Douro the way it would suit us. It was perfect. Thanks for a fabulous experience.
