We had a fantastic stay in Hekaya, everything perfect: Really nice and helpful staff, a great cook, spacious and clean rooms and a nice garden/pool area with direct access to the lively and beautiful beach! A garden tour with John is also highly recommended!

Loved it here! Would return. It was just perfect for 4 nights. Such a beautiful stay and the staff were fantastic. Loved the breakfast and afternoon treats. Food in restaurant was delicious. Thank you for an amazing stay!! Some reviews mention it's a bit isolated but it was perfect for us. There were about 5 other restaurants in walking distance (pre-book the Rock) and a scuba centre almost next door. The snorkelling tours leave just in front of the hotel. The friendly Masai kids looked for starfish and crabs with our toddler son in the early evening.

Amazing. The most perfect slice of paradise. The location the staff the rooms the pool EVERYTHING Massive shout out to Godfrey John the nicest gardener you will ever meet and all the wonderful team who made this trip so special. The mango boat trip with Ali was magical

We loved pretty much everything about our stay at Hekaya Zanzibar: the location which felt very private (only 5 rooms), the direct access to the beach, the cleanliness, the multiple areas where you can relax, the beautiful garden curated by John (who is kind enough to arrange flowers for the guests relaxing by the pool), the food (especially the bruschetta!), the overall vibe and, last but not least, all the members of the staff who have been extremely polite, helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our wedding anniversary special also by arranging a private dinner on the beach. We 100% recommend Hekaya to whoever is looking for quiet, peace and relax in a wonderful environment that makes you feel like home.

I love Hekaya because it is small, only 5 rooms, so it is very exclusive, quiet and calm. I love sleeping and waking up with the sound of the ocean. The staff is super professional and smiling.

This hotel combines a super friendly, chilled atmosphere with very good service. There are only 5 rooms so it feels like everyone knows each other and that the service is personalized. The rooms have great views and are literally 5-10 seconds from the beach. In the late afternoons the locals play football on the beach in a jovial mood so you get some of the local character while chilling in your own space. The locals also seemed to really respect the boundaries of this hotel and there was very little hassle on the beach. This is one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. Highly recommended!

The first one or two days, we were the only couple in the resort! Even when one or two other couples arrived later on, it was still an incredibly private experience. We barely saw or heard the other people staying in the resort. This is because the domain is pretty big for the amount of rooms (5). There are multiple spots to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, so only twice did we eat at the same time and at the same spot as another couple. So the unmatched privacy is what stood out the most. A good location as well, with a fun snorkeling area very close by. The people working at Hekaya go above and beyond to make sure everything is great, including decorating the bed with flowers and cute messages each day, and for example John the gardener spontaneously cleaning our water shoes when we took them off. Thanks for everything!

Hekaya is a small 5 room hotel with a pool, bar and restaurant. It's right on the beautiful white sands beach within walking distance of The Rock restaurant. The staff are very helpful and polite and Jackeline does a great job organising things.
