My six-day stay at Haus Deutinger was very enjoyable. Even though I was traveling alone, I was accommodated in a very spacious and cozy triple room with a balcony with a view of the mountains. I especially liked that the guesthouse was located in a very quiet area (Walchen is a village situated about 6 km west of Zell am See and Kaprun that can be reached by a local train operating currently only between Zell am See and Niedernsill). The distance between Haus Deutinger and the local train station is about 1,2 km. If you arrive by car, make sure you rely on GPS navigation as buildings in the village are not arranged in chronological order (I arrived when it dark was and struggled to find the property a little bit). The guesthouse's owners, Sofie and Hermann, are very friendly, nice and helpful people that will do their best to make you feel at home. Please note that they speak only German. I still can speak a basic German, therefore we could communicate smoothly. It was also a good opportunity for me to practice my German that I had not used for a very long time before. The room was very clean and even equipped with a sink. There is a shared bathroom in the corridor. The accommodation's price was very reasonable, the breakfast was very large and tasty, but every day very similar. Sofie and Hermann will be happy to answer all your questions about local tourist attractions and places worth seeing. If you arrive by car, there is a parking space in front of the property. I wish I could visit this place in the future again as I felt very well at Haus Deutinger.
