Our holiday at Carambola was amazing! Ha organised all of our tours and transport, which made our days completely stress free. Loved experiencing the beauty of Phong Nha and the local village. The view was incredible. Anything we needed was catered for and if not, supplied very quickly. Fast laundry service too. Thank you Ha!

Overlooking the river with water access. Free bicycles made access easy to the town centre and the countryside. Friendly helpful family run the place and can help with booking tours if you need advice. The countryside is beautiful with karst hills clothed in greenery rising steeply above the town. The Paradise Cave was stunning with superb stalactites and stalactites of huge dimensions. World class and an absolute must to visit.

Good location for the hotel on the river with little garden and terrace on the territory. Stayed here for 2 nights. Clean rooms, washed towels but not white at all (on the pictures). For breakfast you can order 1 meal and 1 beverage for free, if you want more need to pay. Not big price. For first night we stayed in room with 3 beds with garden view then moved to river view, which was much better. Thank to hotel for this option.

We were a family of 5 staying at Carambola Bungalow. The accommodation is next to the river. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, he organised transfers and trips for us during our stay, which were well priced. Our accommodation included breakfast, which was very tasty. We highly recommend you stay at Carambola Bungalow when you are in Phong Nha. The Phong Nha and Paradise cave trips are very worthwhile.

Situated riverside, down a small alleyway (with signage visible on the main road), overlooking the Con River, and located just outside of the main & busiest part of Phong Nha, this small and cosy accommodation provider does a good job overall, but not without a few problems/issues. They have a few bungalow styled rooms attracting different tariffs, set put amongst a neat grassed area with paved paths for accessibility. This section also doubles as their alfresco dining/eating area too, with basic wooden seating & tables (some having umbrellas for coverage). My bungalow was one of those neatest the river, and is the only one without a separate accommodation room below (that other guests can stay in). Other free-standing bungalows were setback away from the riverside, with the only other riverside bungalow having a dwelling below it for other guests to use. The bungalows are not very spacious but adequate and functional for short stays (I'm assuming the other bungalows are of the same size), with private bathrooms. My air-conditioned and clean bungalow had a large, medium-soft, queen bed (5 out of 10 on the firmness scale), a small refrigerator, a set of chairs + table, a pedestal fan, a pedestal heater, and a clothes rack (no wardrobe). WiFi was constant and had a good strength signal. [Noting above, I try to rate my mattress instead of just saying "comfortable"....how does anyone reading the review know what I call comfortable, as this is a relative term suiting one's personal preference and only vaguely helpful, if at all?!?!?] My bungalow also had a private bathroom with separate shower recess providing good water pressure, but that means the tiny, water heating storage unit runs out really fast....give it 2 minutes at most before the water is barely lukewarm (one of the problems I experienced). The other small issue is the location of the toilet roll dispensary.....not easily accessible while sitting on the throne!

Clean rooms with a big bathroom and a good view of the river. Free bicycles that came quite handy on our first day for exploring the areas around the property. Excellent hospitality from the staff. We were picked up in a car from the bus stop which is 2 kms away, and given warm ginger tea multiple times during our stay, as it was both wet and cold during our visit. The manager also let us use his bike for free on one of the nights which made it easy for us to explore the town. We also booked a tour from the hotel that included Botanical garden, paradise cave and dark cave for a total 1.45 million dong for 2. This included pickup and drop, all entry tickets, free lunch and drop back to the hotel. While it would have probably been cheaper to book the tour from independent tour operators, the tour from the hotel was excellent and the tour guides were really fun and enthusiastic. Overall a convenient and comfortable stay for the 2 nights we spent in Phongh Nha.

Ha was the most friendly and helpful host! The room was large and comfortable with the most incredible view. Loved that Ha supplied free bikes and kayaks, so easily to get around town. Loved every minute of our stay!

Ha, the man in charge of the establishment, was very attentive and helpful since minute one. We arrived very early in the morning in Phong Nha, around 4.00 am. As there was no Grab at that time, he helped us to arrange the taxi to the hotel. We could also rest in some hammocks and use the bathroom (he let some lights on for us). The next day in the morning we could have some breakfast before initiating our trekking activity with Jungle Boss that we booked in advance thanks to the information provided by the hotel (1 full day trekking into the Elephant Cave and Ma Da valley). After Phong Nha, our next destination was Hue. Ha managed for us the transportation to Hue by bus (sleeping bus as the journey took around 4,30-5.00 hours) and organized the car from the hotel to the bus station. The hotel has amazing views to the river and it is placed in a quite and calm location The hotel was made of a set of cozy cabins with a balcony. It felt really peaceful and calmy. You could also take dinner in the hotel. I personally recommend the chicken curry. A hotel super recommended for resting surrounded by nature.
