This is an old building which was purpose built as a hotel. It is a beautiful environment both outside and in, the design still working well for its visitors. The views are incredible. Simply breath taking. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to help in every way. It may not have all ‘mod cons’ but it has everything needed for a comfortable stylish holiday.

After I read other people's reviews, I had much lower expectations but in the end it was decent for the price and I would come back and stay longer if the mattresses were better quality (more sponge, less of the big metal springs). Bad reviews from a couple years ago: either some of those people who complain about the hotel are a bit pretentious or the hotel invested a bit to touch up some things in the meantime or I have lower standards. Yes, from the drain from the bathroom there was a smell but I poured bit of water in it and added disinfectant spray - after I poured that mix down the drain, the smell stopped. Yes, it came back the next day but was not as intense and I did not mind. What do people expect? It is a small island taking lots and lots of tourists each year. The staff: perfectly friendly and helpful, answering each of our questions. It was really nice that they had filled our fridge with water bottles. Thank you 🙏 Food: nothing special but delicious and a bit cheaper than in a restaurant in the village. Breakfast: I liked the selection and there was enough of everything. Simple but all you need. Cleaning: Everyday the bathroom litter bin was emptied because you throw the toilet paper in the bin, not the toilet. Bathroom was old but perfectly fine and spacious. Water was lukewarm most of the times but I never shower in hot water anyway. Excellent: view both East and West, the authentic historic style of the hotel. We were here in mid-September so it was nice and quiet. I would not want to come in peak season when it's loud and hot. I think the room would become too hot and the air conditioning is old so I don't trust it. Terrace is nice but there is just a low fence next to the neighboring rooms, so in hot weather I would not feel relaxed sleeping with terrace door open. The shades do not let light or air through so if you want some air, you sleep with open terrace doors as there is no extra window.

The Hotel is charming and in a fantastic location with spectacular island views. This is our 2nd visit and we would return. The gardens and pool are well maintained and the staff are great.
