The fine print
From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Beginning 1 July 2016, as directed by the Langkawi Municipal Council, a local government Tourism Promotion Fee would be applicable per room per night.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Ambong Rainforest Retreat is the best hotel I have EVER stayed at. I received a very warm welcome upon arrival before being shown around my room. There are a lot of good quality toiletries provided and plenty of tea, coffee and soft drinks. The little extras such as the chocolate cake in the room were a nice touch. There is yoga every morning (except Thursdays) which is free for in house guests. Definitely recommend and the views are beautiful. The breakfast at Pegaga (served 8am-11am) is amazing. You can also eat at their sister restaurant, Rimba. At Pegaga vegan, the breakfast is fresh and there is a varied selection. The smoothie bowls and avocado toast were my favourites. As a pastry chef, I recommend having dinner here if you get a chance, the food is very good. Most mornings we saw the monkeys swinging in the trees next to the restaurant, which I loved. It's a perfect retreat if you like nature but still want to be close enough to enjoy activities/beaches. I was very sad to leave, especially after making friends with all the wonderful staff here. They do an amazing job and it shows that they care!

Service was fantastic, the views from our room were excellent. The whole vibe was very relaxed and lovely. You could call for a buggy to pick you up when needed as we were right at the top of the hill this was very useful.

Vegan breakfast was delicious. Room was a good sized one with a kitchen. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Tranquility of the place and to see the monkeys in their natural habitat. There's a very good Japanese restaurant located below the property.

Everything. The staff were amazing, very helpful and always a smile on their face. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were lovely, modern and very clean but also fitting very well with rainforest feel. Great hot showers and amenities. Free shuttle to neighbouring associated hotel for breakfast. Easy to get quick and cheap grabs to cenang beach, restaurants and bars and other beaches. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere less touristy and high quality in langkawi.

Amazing place in the middle of 'jungle' with super friendly staff! We have never felt ourselves as welcome as here! Great facilities with fascinating nature around you. Very good breakfast with lots of choices and good service (especially the older guy at the Rimba restaurant - sorry don't know the name!). Nice little pool area and herb garden (thanks a lot for the personal tour Raja - the gardener). The place also offered transportation and help with car parking.

Our room in the tree tops was quiet and relaxing. It was only a short taxi ride to all of the activities, shops and beach. The breakfast was delicious, with fantastic views of the ocean. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Tranquil location in the rainforest with views of the sea. Great to watch wildlife. Easy walk to beach. Big room. Lovely breakfast. Raja gave us an interesting tour of the herb garden

It’s very unique set up. The staff have thought of everything and made it easy to enjoy the peace of the jungle whilst not feeling isolated. We were able to arrange dinner to be delivered to our room one evening which was great.

Everything really. This is a niche resort set away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms, restaurant and facilities are all spot on. Super relaxing, with great healthy food and complimentary yoga. What makes this place is the staff though, very hardworking and customer focused.

Lovely secluded hotel in the rainforest - perfect for a romantic getaway. Easy to reach by taxi etc. Food in the restaurant is awesome.
