This is a small family run hotel in the narrow streets and lanes of old Palermo. The room was clean and comfortable, with a good shower. Breakfast was a selection of breads and pastries, good coffee. Hotel Cortese is well located being only a few minutes walk from Quattro Canti and other places of interest.

Location was just great. It was right next to a market that sold, from fresh produce / seafood, to tourist souvenirs. It was a joy to mingle with the local crowd. It was also close enough to actually walk to the other part of town, where the main attractions are too. Our hotel was comfortable to us. The hosts were really helpful. Breakfast was simple, but adequate. We had a nice room with a small balcony, and as the streets were narrow, it felt like living in a real neighborhood. There were a couple of restaurants a short walk (less than 5 mins) away, and many more about 10-15 mins away. The room was basic, compact, but everything worked. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi etc. all worked well.

The location is very close to the market and to the historic center (5 min walking) so that point was excellent! However the building is quite old, the rooms as well and the worst was the water pressure of the shower... The air conditioner worked fine. The breakfast quite simple but enough. Great price for its location but the price reflects the different lackings in the room. Overall it was a pleaseant staying.
