Fantastic stay. Do not expect a five star resort for the prize you pay. Everything was working and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

In our opinion the hotel is excellent in terms of value for money. We really liked our 9 day stay in White Star Ocean View Hotel, it was a great place to explore the island from. Whole staff is very helpful, the accommodation is safety, located directly along the shore and has a very good mood and a beautiful garden. The room is comfortable, clean and big enough with a nice view to the ocean from its balcony. The breakfast is plentiful, varied, very tasty and served in a big terrace above the ocean with excellent view. We were afraid about general electricity problems on the island but fortunately it didn't really affect us except a few hours period, it was not a problem. Paje main beach is nice, definately worth to visit. There are a lot of vendors on the beaches (not just in Paje) who are trying to sell all kinds of things. At first this can be a bit distracting, but it is manageable. Paje is quite windy (thats why called kite surf paradise) and low tide-high tide greatly affect the beaches in Zanzibar. During high tide, the central beach of Paje cannot be reached by walking along the shore from the accommodation, but during low tide it is possible by a 2 km long walk. For more money you can get probably a worse accomodation but in a better location if thats more important for you - on the northern part of the island which is less affected by the wind and low tide-high tide changes. Overall we highly recommended this accomodation because its a great value for money. Thank you again for hosting us! Dora&Daniel
