The location is quite good, right on the beach. The sunbed area on the beach is nice, with the bar and restaurant right behind you. Some regular activities are arranged, which is quite nice. Some of the staff was very kind. AC didn’t work when we arrived, and broke down completely two days later, but it was fixed within an hour both times.

We stayed in Maisha Matamu, and I would be happy to return there. It definitely was a good choice. We loved hospitality and kindness, and all staff were very young and energetic. They are very polite and helpful. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. We travelled with 5y old kids, and it means a lot when security gards are watching, as he was constantly in and out of water and rooming around, for me means a lot that they kept they eyes on him. *Beach lounge- is very nice, relaxing and clean. It's designed with love and had good vibes. We loved the terrace-restaurant upstairs- it has wonderful views, and it's also well designed, loved plain wood, and natural materials. *Kitchen staff- (Hassan) and chefs were excellent. They were very supportive, and they prepared food very, very well. They had consistency, and the food was fresh and delicious. The prices are really decent. *Housekeeping- all were great, I really appreciate the lady who was cleaning our room (101) with short hair and boy who was also in the morning shift, they were fast and always singing:-) *Bar and other staff- very friendly, Mr. G or GE, nlt sure of spelling, young girls Melisa and Felista, also PM shift all team of PM shift (Rosy and all the rest) are superheroes of Maisha Matamu. *We were happy to meet the owners, and they were extremely kind, humble, and sweet people. My husband was celebrating his Bday and they all joined and supported the celebration. The owners are very helpful, and they show care and good human touch to all. Relly loved seeing them enjoying with their staff. I would recommend this facility to everyone, and we would be back as we loved the place totally ❤️

A cool hotel run by two wonderful german ladies located directly at the beach. I specially enjoyed the little veranda of the room which gave me wonderful time to sit and read and enjoy my time in this hotel.

We stayed at the Deluxe Double Room with Balcony. Very nice and comfy bed, the room was cleaned with new towels every day. The breakfast was great, with 3 wonderful and alternative choices. The location is fantastic as it's right on the beach, hence you are in the sea in 5 steps. And there's security on the premises. The staff is super nice and helpful. We almost always had lunch there and the food was always very tasty (I understand that the chef was trained in Italy). Nice decor. Overall great value for money!

Think twice before you book!!! We’v been privileged to have visited various towns and cities in 39 countries over the years, all over the world, of which 8 countries are in Africa. Although this hotel is right on the beach, with clean rooms, most (not all) of the staff and their attitude is the worst we’ve ever experienced. In a way I have myself to blame - AFTER, arrival when I went onto the negative and poor reviews of the hotel on Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Google Reviews etc., I realised that our experience is not unique but the opinion of many other guests! On both the positive and negative! This was also confirmed by three other couples that we’ve met at breakfast. Nobody takes accountability and everybody deflects - “not my problem, or not my area of responsibility”! The waitress at the breakfast area sat on her phone while the coffee pot is empty and only, when I complained, she has put the phone down to attend to guests needs! When we took two glasses, one with water and one with juice, we were told that every guest may only use one glass, therefore we had to quickly empty one glass to return it to the waiter. I’ve heard that the hotel is under new management, and if that is true, the new team is certainly on a cost saving drive. Breakfast options are limited, however we have enjoyed the spicy chicken pasta that we had for lunch. Although frustrating and annoying, one has to have compassion with the constant power failures and very poor water pressure in the shower, which we did. The location is good and within walking distance of other hotels and restaurants.

We had an amazing 4 nights at Maisha Matamu, rarely when we experience a venue where kids don't want to leave!! The facility is super nice and cosy. The hotel owners are always there making sure that everything is fine and that you are always enjoying your stay. Location wise, right on the beach at a perfect spot where it is not that busy, yet it is 300m away from Paje main beach where you will find many restaurants, bars, supermarket ...etc. The food at he hotel is very good quality, nothing beats the breakfast at the upper deck with the ocean view.
