Apartment Overview

This small, friendly, licensed bed & breakfast offers comfortable, well-appointed accommodation in a quiet, elevated position at the top of a hill, close to all that the delightful seaside towns of Paignton and Goodrington have to offer.dThe property is located in a quiet area of Paignton in Torbay, South Devon, the heart of the English Riviera, where guests can settle into the sound of the birds but being close enough to all the local areas and attractions that the English Riviera has to offer.dFrom Sonachan House, guests can walk to two lovely beaches (Paignton & Goodrington) and to the South West Coast Path within 5 to 10 minutes. Paignton Zoo is 5 minutes away by car. Paignton town centre and the Dartmouth Steam Railway are also only a 10 minute walk away.dThe accommodation can offer 9 en-suite bedrooms with a choice of rooms including single, double, superior double and family suites sleeping up to five (2 adults & 3 children, minimum 8 year age restriction) all on a room-only basis with an optional supplementary hamper style breakfast. All rooms are centrally heated and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen smart TVs, mini-fridge, hair dryer, quality white bed linen & white fluffy towels, complimentary shampoo/shower gel in refillable pumps, and cool air fans for those summer nights. A limited number of mobile air conditioning units are also available if needed.dSonachan House has free complimentary WiFi through out the building including all guest bedrooms. There's free secure private off-road parking towards the rear of the building, in the on-site car park which can accommodate 6 cars or small vans on a first parked basis (not suitable for vehicles bigger than a SWB transit). There is also ample free on-road parking outside the building.dA well stocked bar is available, offering a selection of Real Ales from Paignton's local Bays Brewery, and Windfall Cider made from 100% West Country apples are also sold here (the bar is only available on a pre-arranged basis for group bookings).dGuests are more than welcome to relax in the guest lounge with its comfy seating and large screen digital smart TV.dThere are also plenty of toys and games for those rare wet days, or to keep the children amused.dGuests are also welcome to enjoy the gardens, including the deck, where they can relax and take in the peace & quiet. The property aims to ensure a stress free, relaxed and enjoyable stay.

We offer two single en-suite rooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Both are furnished with double beds & new comfortable mattresses finished off with high quality white bedding and plump pillows, bathrooms are all en-suite and guests are provided white fluffy towels and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. Both rooms are fully equipped with 32” colour smart TV’s, Tea & coffee facilities, Mini-Fridge, hair dryer and fans.

We offer two budget double en-suite rooms both on the ground floor which are slightly smaller than our standard doubles, one has views of the front garden from the bay sash windows the other looking onto to side aspect. Both rooms are furnished with modern standard size double beds & new comfortable mattresses finished off with high quality white bedding and plump pillows, bathrooms are all en-suite and guests are provided white fluffy towels and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. All rooms are fully equipped with 32” colour smart TV’s, Seating areas, Tea & coffee facilities, Mini-Fridge, hair dryer and fans. Both these rooms are ideal for short term stop overs.

We offer one family room sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children with a minimum age restriction of 8 years and maximum of 16 years. This family suite is located on the first floor with a front garden view and furnished with a standard double size bed and a bunk bed, the bottom bunk being a standard double. All beds have new comfortable mattresses finished off with luxury white bedding and plump pillows, bathroom is en-suite and guests are provided with white fluffy towels and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. The main family area is fully equipped with 39” colour smart TV, Seating area, Tea & coffee facilities, Mini-Fridge, hair dryer and fans.

We offer one family room sleeping up to 2 adults and 3 children with a minimum age restriction of 8 years and maximum of 16 years. This family suite is located on the first floor with rear garden and sea views furnished with a King Size Bed and three single beds. This suite is provided with one of the single beds being in its own room. All beds have new comfortable mattresses finished off with luxury white bedding and plump pillows, bathroom is en-suite and guests are provided with white fluffy towels and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. The main family area is fully equipped with 39” colour smart TV, Seating area, Tea & coffee facilities, Mini-Fridge, hair dryer and fans.

We offer one superior double room, located on the top floor with lovely sea views past Paignton Pier and across the bay. The room is furnished with a king size bed with a new comfortable mattress finished off with luxury white bedding and plump pillows. The bathroom is en-suite and guests are provided with white fluffy towels and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. The room is fully equipped with a 43” colour smart TV, Seating area with 2 plush wing back chairs, Nespresso coffee machine, Tea & coffee facilities, Mini-Fridge, hair dryer and fans.

The suite features 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. The suite provides a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a tea and coffee maker, a seating area, a wardrobe as well as city views. The unit offers 1 bed.
