Hotel Overview

Located in South Oxfordshire, in the heart of the village of Burcot, The Chequers offers 9 beautifully-designed en-suite rooms, an award-winning bar and gastro pub. The Chequers is located just 7 miles from Oxford.
The hotel rooms opened in 2019 and are fully equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, Wi-Fi and complimentary use of the telephone, kettle, Nespresso machine, toaster, iron, rainfall showers, hairdryer and desk.
Breakfast basket can be delivered to room for additional charge
Secure private parking is available immediately outside the property.
All rooms are on the ground level and are situated in a separate building adjacent to the restaurant which has the thatched roof.
The property is near the beautiful towns of Oxford, Abingdon-on-Thames and Wallingford, and less than an hour from central London and Bicester Village.
A self check-in policy operates on this day, and it is not guaranteed that there will be a member of staff on site. Details will be provided via email or text on how to check in, and whilst hot breakfasts are not served on a Monday a breakfast basket can be provided if requested in advance (a separate charge applies unless breakfast has been included in the room rate).

The Staff were amazing, can not fault them, the Wee Scottish Lady that greeted me made me so welcome, and being disabled they helped me with things, nothing was too much hassle, the room was immaculate and beautiful

The staff at the restaurant and reception for the hotel were fabulous. Very attentive and friendly :) the food was outstanding and we ate every single bit, we had dinner and dessert and in the morning we had a full breakfast which was perfectly cooked. Honestly it was great! Shower was really nice and bed was comfortable.

Nice and not too busy. We were able to catch up and plenty of room for our grandson in his pushchair. He slept whilst we ate breakfast. The menu was great.

The property is beautiful with a wonderful pub attached. Internal decoration of the pub is exactly what I’d expect of an upper market rustic pub. The rooms are appropriately decorated, completely in keeping with the setting. The staff excelled at all opportunities and are a credit to the business. The location setting is perfect, with Oxford centre only 20 minutes away.

The staff went over and above, nothing was too much trouble. Booked dinner there also which was exceptional! Drinks by the fire before our meal, everything was amazing.
