Greeted immediately and guided to a seating area, provided with complimentary drinks and sweets during check-in (not your typical check-in experience). The tatami room was beautiful, I went with a friend but this is definitely more of a couples/family experience. Everything in the hotel was immaculate and of a higher quality compared to your standard hotel. I booked the private onsen which was amazing and my friend used the open-air bath tub (takes a long time to fill up). The private shuttle provided by the hotel is convenient.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and it easy to communicate with them. The ladies that presented the food at dinner were exceptional, explaining each dish in detail, and even assisted in frying the meats perfectly. An overall amazing experience

Our room was fantastic, with every comfort, spacious and with private hot spring overlooking the lake. We were given beautiful traditional clothing to wear in the hotel. The hotel is easily accessible from Kyoto and a shuttle bus service picks you up from the local train station. The staff was extremely friendly and polite, and we had an amazing time. I absolutely recommend it!

Stunning rooms, beautiful onsen including a lovely outdoor bath. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful including coming to pick us up from the station. Highly recommend!

1) View from room and open air-bath is magnificent. 2) We spent the whole afternoon comfortably, sitting and relaxing on the 2 comfortable easy chairs. 3) The crab hot pot that was served on the second night is excellent. 4) The room is very clean. We are satisfied with the standard of the hotel.

Nice hotel, good dinner and breakfast. Nice onsen. Overall, a very relaxing stay. My family enjoyed it very much. They have English speaking host, which is a unique offering.
