Maru-chan and Kogo-chan are a highlight of this hostel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The location is a little out of the way but its in a safe and quiet area which is nice. The place is incredibly clean for a hostel and has a really cozy vibe that I really loved and I would highly recommend this place.

The social area and bar were really lovely. It was nice to be able to interact with the other guests. The dorm I stayed in was also well set up. I really liked that there storage options right by my bed, so I didn't have to climb up and down the bunk to get things. And I really appreciated the curtains for privacy!

Everything about this place is as close to perfect as you can possibly get. Rieko, Yoshi and Trent have something truly magical on their hands and I wish them all nothing but the absolute best. The location is excellent, being only a short walk away from a tramline connecting to a major station and with convenience stores, restaurants and bars, and everything else you might need close by. The building has a wonderful atmosphere with comfortable rooms and facilities, making it feel more like a home than just some accommodation. If you are ever in Osaka, make the effort to stay here -- even if it's only for a single night you will have an incredible experience.

Mad cat is a unique hostel that feels very homey and comfortable, small touches like extra locker space, a communal eating area and many more show the owner is experienced in the field and knows what her customers want and need.

Kogo & Maeu are so cute! Yoshi is warm and cordial. I highly recommend everyone to stay here. This is the cutest place I’ve ever stayed, and it truly makes you feel at home.

This was my most enjoyable hostel stay my whole trip, staff were extremely welcoming and friendly shout out to yoshi and james for being amazing people, the cozy vibe of the common room, of course Maru and kogo are so cute and friendly! Great place to meet and make friends, just all around cozy and chill vibes. I seriously cannot reccomend this place enough!

The big thing this hostel has going for it are it's two cats, Maru and Kogo! It's really nice that after an exhausting day I can just come back to these two furballs that are always lounging around on the heated floor 😆 There is a bar at the hostel, a lounge for guests behind it and the staff are a joy to chat with. All the facilities here really foster a good social scene at the hostel. Something so many places on my trip failed to do. The beds are surprisingly comfy and outside there is a wall of polaroid photos of all the guests cats you can look at! I've paid x2-x3 more for some hostels and Mad Cat even has those places beat! I'm giving out a 10/10 here easily. If you are staying in Osaka, pick Mad Cat

The warm welcome from reiko, yoshi and pedro!!! Travelling solo they made me feel so welcome and we had some awesome nights! Highly recommend to stay at mad cat and can't wait to come back!!!
