Based on local tax laws, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Peru) must pay an additional fee of 18% .To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IVA), a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented.Please note both documents are required for fee exemption. Guests who are not able to present both documents will be required to pay the fee.Foreign business travellers who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 18% regardless of the length of their stay in Peru. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation.

Clean room with hot shower! Close to train station, center of the town, very close to sacred valley. Good complimentary breakfast in a cafe owned by the hostel. The host was also very kind! Was stay before going to Machu Picchu!

Location. Quiet. Comfortable and clean and the staff are 100% the most loveliest of people. Spanish speaking only so brush up or being google translate. Breakfast was plentiful!

I stayed two nights at El Chasqui and it was a great find. Its a walk up the hill from the train station and easily found on the corner of the main street. Check in was easy, English was spoken and staff were friendly. The room was facing the inside courtyard, the bed was comfy, everything spotlessly clean and at night very quiet. The location is central for everything, restaurants and shop are all around and the Ollantaytambo Sanctuary is opposite. I was catching an early train to Machu Picchu so the hotel provided a complimentary packed lunch for me. Breakfast is provided in the coffee shop next door (2 fried eggs + bread, coffee and juice). I would definitely recommend El Chasqui to anyone visiting Ollantaytambo, you won't be disappointed.

My room had a great view of the ruins, hot shower and close to everything but still quiet.. The staff called me up to inform me that a school group had booked in, in case I wanted to cancel and book elsewhere .

This is an amazing beautiful hotel. It is a family run business and they are lovely. So friendly and helpful. I was very welcomed. The views from the hotel of the Olantaytambo ruins are stunning. The room was perfect, good decorations, very clean, a great shower and a good amount of space. Breakfast is served at the cafe next door which is part of the family business. You get a choice of 3 breakfasts, eggs, vegetarian or fruit and granola, all served with bread, juice and tea of coffee which was delicious. They also provided a packed breakfast for the early start I had when I went to Machu Picchu. This is the best place that I have stayed in Peru, such a warm welcome from the family and a stay that will always remain in my heart. Do not hesitate to book this, you will not be disappointed!

Communication initially was a bit slow but eventually they arranged a transfer from Cusco airport which was great. The building is quite beautiful and really central but the room was maybe a bit smaller than average.
