Did not take breakfast. Did take any meal. There is currently a high frequency of tour groups which dictates buffet meals. Not my meal of choice. So a local pub proved to be more interesting.

The Alexandra is an older hotel which could benefit from a modernization. All is a bit tired. Bathroom needed a makeover. Bedrooms as Standard are half the size of a budget hotel to use a benchmark. The high volume of bus group means the evening meal is a buffet so we only ate in once. The hoped for culinary delights were not on offer. The hotel dates from time before ensuite so bedrooms have been compromised to accommodate bathrooms. Did not use the Spar facility. Staff first class.

We were sent to a sister hotel as the one we booked was closed for renovation, so we did not end up staying at the Alexandria. The sister hotel however, was only five minutes away and had been recently renovated so was very lovely. We only stayed one night but it was clean and comfortable.
