Hotel Overview

The family-run Lancaster Hotel is right next to St Columba's Cathedral and has a view of Oban Bay. Built in 1850, it offers snacks, meals and lounge areas.
From the front rooms you can look down the Firth of Lorne, almost all the way to Easdale and across to Lismore, Ardnamurchan and Mull. Each room at Lancaster Hotel has a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
In the morning, a breakfast is served in the dining room with breathtaking views which include the island of Kerrera with the distant peaks of Mull in the background. Breakfast can be eaten in the rooms and hot snacks include macaroni cheese and lamb hotpot.
The bar has darts, a pool table, dominoes, cards, a TV and a jukebox.
Oban Rail Station and Oban Ferry Terminal are only 5 minutes’ drive from the Lancaster. There is free parking at the property.

Amazing building. Just loved that it was querky and individual. Ok so it is not modern but it was homely. Room was very clean and had everything you need. Live traditional music in the bar in the evening was an added bonus. Absolutely loved my one night stay. Would visit anytime.

The room was spotlessly clean and fresh. I had a small, single room with a single bed which was very comfortable. I brought my two toy dogs without any extra charge. The breakfast was excellent.

This hotel exceeded my expectations our room was right at the back of the hotel (no WiFi) it was dated BUT lots of space and the beds were super comfy best sleep any of us had in ages. The bar was lovely and cosy we were up and away early so didn’t sample breakfast but I would stay here again

The hotel was old,warm,clean,wecoming and staff were so nice.The shops only a 10minute walk away and views were lovely. I had a single room on suite bathroom and the room reminded me of the staff accommodation when I worked in hotels,but warm and clean and for the price it was wounderful.I will visit again.thank you to all the staff at the hotel.
