The fine print
The park entrance fees need to be purchased from the KWS office in Nairobi or you by credit card charged up on entry at the gate.The Ark's is sister property of Aberdare Country Club, you are expected to arrive for lunch at Aberdare Country Club and then lodge vehicle will transfer you to The Ark for dinner and overnight.Only bag pack are allowed, excess luggage shall be stored overnight at the reception of Aberdare Country club.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.
Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
Payment before arrival via bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.

It's simple. Looking to stay in or near Aberdare National Park? This is the place to go. While relatively expensive, the experience is absolutely amazing.

The animal viewing from the decks was just fantastic. One can stay up all night and see the comings and goings of game. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We found it good value for money due to the animal viewing experience. So many elephants so close. We HIGHLY recommend The Ark for a game viewing stay without leaving the hotel. Shower gel, shampoo, hand cream and soap all supplied in the bathroom. Bottled water in the room.

The staff really make this an exceptional experience, starting at the country club (Paul and Nderitu), continuing on the drive (Stephen) and of course everyone at the Ark. Special mention to Anne at the Ark, expert in aromatherapy massage. The Ark is so relaxing and so quiet with a true emphasis on the animals. We have been drawn back to this beautiful place several times over the last 32 years and will continue to return.
