We were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful owner. The room itself has some issues. The TV has only 1 (barely) viewable channel due to a bad antenna cable. A very hard bed (thinnish mattress on creaky wooden boards)

My stay was wonderful. The room was lovely, clean and a decent size. In particular the bed was very comfortable. The hosts couldn't have been kinder. They let me borrow an umbrella (as it was very rainy!) and recommended an Indian restaurant in the nearby town which was possibly the best Indian food I have ever eaten. They also drove me there free of charge. They put on a delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast early the next morning as I was leaving for an early train, and took me to the train station. I also accidentially left my phone in their car, and they rushed back to get it to me before my train departed, for which I was so so grateful. I had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend Shevyhaws.

We felt truly welcomed here! Chaminda was incredibly kind, offering to drive us to a tea factory and even waking up early to go with us to Horton Plains—highly recommended! The breakfast was also delicious. We had a good stay!
