Friendly, helpful staff. The owners went out of their way to help with everything. The owner is not called Crazy Man for nothing, he is a full-of-energy crazy, loveable soul for whom everything is hakuna matata. We enjoyed our stay. If you want 5*, or if you want to be right on the beach, this is not for you.. It is however a perfect way to enjoy the vibrant village life. The breakfast was huge and tasty.

Breakfast is wonderful, lots of delicious fruits, eggs and toasts. Free laundry. The manager Julia is kind and provided useful tips, e.g. driver for a reasonable price, snorkelling trip for 15 usd (when they charge you much more at the beach for same trip). Nahaar food, close by, serves great and cheap food. Large water bottles on the local shops on the main road for 1000

Very friendly staff and met very friendly fellow travellers. The communal spaces are really excellent, welcoming and comfortable. The two huge hammocks are wonderful. Very good location. Our experience at Homeland Swahili was wonderful. Excellent breakfast

The breakfast was huge and I loved it. They are very generous and have friendly staff. The accommodation is also near the main road and surrounded by a lot of places to do activities while in Nungwi. Daladala is always available and motorbikes for short-distance movements.

Yulia is an great host! You will need at least one hour to eat your AMAZING and huge breakfast. I had the best time and left several days later than planned because of how relaxing and chill the hostel was. It's clean and safe. It's a 10-15 min walk from the beach. There are nice local and touristic restaurants around. There are a couple shops and fruit stands near the property.

A wonderful amazing relaxing hostel in Nungwi. The hammocks will keep you asleep all afternoon :) If you're travelling alone and want to meet new people, go there. As a female traveller, I felt safe walking on the main road back to the hostel in the evening (not at 1am, but maybe until 10pm it's okay)
