Nice room and comfortable beds. Pool area was well maintained and nicely shaded. Good and generous breakfast. Reception staff was very helpful as we had a problem with our taxi as we were leaving. We ate and drank in the restaurant a few times and it's a nice space to be. Service was sometimes a bit confused but staff were always helpful and well meaning.

Absolutely amazing stay in Zanzibar about a 6-7min walk to the beach and restaurants. Britta and her staff made sure we were well looked after. The bar and restaurant in the hotel were affordable and nice too. The Wi-Fi and electricity did cut out for hours at a time but didn’t bother us too much

Beautiful quiet oasis with an amazing garden to chill and swim in the pool, also nice restaurant and bar with billiards/ pooltable and darts . Tasty local dishes - we stayed 3 times longer than planned ☺️

Britta is an attentive host who will make you feel like home. The moment we arrived at Highland Bungalows, Britta and the receptionist Martha welcomed us warmly. The bungalows are clean and roomy, the beds are confy and the shower water could be stronger but hey, that's normal in Africa, so pole pole! Breakfast is delicious, specially the different juices they make every day (I loved the passion fruit one!) and the crêpes are amazing! I really enjoyed swimming at the pool in the evening; no one else was using it so we have the whole of it for us every day! Thanks Britta for your hospitality. If I go back to Zanzibar, I will definitely be back at Highland Bungalows in Nungwi.

The place is very beautiful, the rooms are large and beds comfortable with mosquito nets. The pool area was super nice to relax in any time! The restaurant offers good food although you have to wait quite some time for the food to arrive (but that was everywhere the same thing). The personnel is super friendly and helpful, as well as the owner herself. It was a lovely stay!

Great location 10 minute walk to the beach, clean spacious rooms and bathroom, the breakfast was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful every day. Britta the owner made sure to come and welcome us when we arrived and also to say goodbye when we were leaving which I think is a great touch and allows you to really get to know the owner which is nice. Also let us keep our room past check out time which was amazing, food and bar was great in the evening. Will definitely be back to Zanzibar and staying here again, loved the location the property and the staff
