This is by far the most hospitable accommodation we've had ever. We lived in the loft as a group of 6. They first offered to pick us up from the bus terminal which was an uphill to the accommodation. We had just gotten off a sleeper bus where one of us couldn't sleep at all, and they actually allowed us to check-in early at 8 AM. It was immensely helpful for us. They gave us a lot of local recommendations, and the advice about onsens was very helpful. They also provided us with breakfast ingredients and allowed us to refill at any time. They gave us raw eggs but also gave us the option to make our own onsen eggs, or get their pre-made one. They even gave us baskets to bring to the onsens. Very interesting experience! Throughout the stay, they were always very friendly. The location is extremely good for skiing and there's plenty of ski shops nearby. The accommodation is also more spacious than expected, and well-equipped. At the end of our trip, after checkout, we went for one last day of skiing. They allowed us to use their communal bathroom to shower after skiing and store our luggage, despite already checking out. This made our final day of skiing extremely comfortable, and we can't thank them enough. Truly feels like they actually love their job and enjoy running this lodge :)

Nozawaonsen lodge has a lovely ski lodge vibe, relaxed and friendly. Sachikou, Dredd and the staff are lovely, they are so welcoming and helpful. The breakfast every day was very good and nutritious. The place is very clean and the communal dining area was cozy and comfortable. A lovely place to meet other travellers! Very close to the main gondola, fantastic location with the closest onsen only a few minutes walk away.

We had a great stay at the Nozawa Onsen Lodge. It is backpackers style accommodation with shared kitchen and bathroom which are spotlessly clean. Dredd the manager was such a nice person, as was his wife. They have small baskets of shampoo and body wash in reception that you can borrow to take to the public onsens around the town which was a great experience. The location was a 2 minute walk to the Gondola.

The hosts were so kind! They went above and beyond for everyone and were so welcoming. The whole stay we felt had a really lovely, feel good vibe about it. Will definitely be back!

Excellent host (Drekk) Highly recommended for Chinese & English speaking tourist who knows little Japanese. Spacious for 5 adults or more Kitchenette available Simple Breakfast Fantastic stay! Host Drekk is a excellent host to our family of 5 (parents + 3 teens). Our room (Heidi room) was great with 4 bunk beds on the first floor and 2 queen beds on the second floor. 1 Bath room & 1 wash room inside the room. More bath rooms are available within the lodge, which is conveniently accessible. Washers and dryer are free to use. Upon check-in, Drekk, the main host speaks Chinese, Japanese and English, welcomed our family with language that we can communicate seamlessly. He sat with our family to go through details of Nozawa Onsen and shared with us the key onsens and placed to visit during our stay. He is knowledgeable， very hospitable and great restaurant recommendations (especially the Japanese BBQ Restaurant). Breakfast are simple with English style: toaster / bed / jams/ butter/ cereals and milk Japanese style: rice/ onsen eggs/ kimchi/ Nozawa/Japanese pickers Drinks & soup : instant Potatoes soup/ corn soup/ miso soup/ drip & instant coffee/ tea/ orange juice/ apple juice / milk You can cook your own food in your room as there are full fledged kitchenette within Heidi room (fridge/ rice cooker/oven/microwave/ kettle). On the second day, we mentioned that we wanted to visit the snow site and Drekk checked with us if we had necessary footwear. Our family wasn’t prepared and Drekk actually prepared the boots for our family of 5, just by looking at our feet size! He lend us few snow slides that had attracted lots of queries on the rental when we were in the snow. Drekk was amazing and our family had a great half a day playing in the snow! Highly recommended with excellent host. Special thanks to Drekk and his wife for a memorable stay for our family !

We were right at the base of the mountain where the gondolas were which was handy for skiing. Was a 1 minute walk. Staff were really friendly. Beds were comfy we had a studio.

An amazing aparthotel in a fantastic location for skiing! The building is delightful to look at, and was our favourite hotel during our whole vacation in Japan. We had a very spacious and interesting apartment on the top floor, and we would have stayed much longer if only we had the time. Just 1 minute walk away from a ski rental shop and gondolas. Service was exceptional, and the hotel manager and wife were lovely and helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can cook your own breakfast eggs or meals. It snowed heavily when we were there for 4 nights, and it was just magical! We would stay here again if coming back to Nozawa Onsen.
