Staff were excellent and are an absolute credit to the pub chain, can’t praise them enough ! We felt a happy atmosphere throughout our entire stay and also whilst dining in the restaurant 👍 Highly recommend this place for a short stay; food and accommodation were excellent so we will definitely book again.

Everything was perfect for our festive break. We arrived cold and wet from a rainy day at Longleat and everything was ready for us to dry off and glam up in our room. It had bags of character (we stayed at the plaine over the road) and we didn't need to be worry about not getting the full 14th C experience.. Everything was truly gorgeous. Food was outstanding and staff were extremely accommodating to both grown ups and children alike.

A warm, sizeable room with an excellent bathroom and comfortable bed, on a cold January night - just what I wanted. I had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and a good breakfast the following morning before leaving. Friendly service, convenient parking and a real sense of history in this beautifully conserved old inn.
