We were extremely impressed with the hospitality on offer. Right from our pickup at Matto station to our drop back, every aspect of our stay was memorable Natali not only gave us a great tour of the place but also helped us understand the Kaiseki course a lot better The open-air private onsen was icing on the cake, with a view of a gigantic Ginko treat right outside

How kind, helpful and friendly the staff were. Matsusaki also provided a very extensive range of Japanese cuisine in small quantities so that everything could be tried. The onsen experience was also really nice as it was open air.

Staff were very helpful and friendly to a point of stressing us because they literally watched us entered our car. Very kids friendly too! The outdoor private onsen was so good we were in the room most of the time! Kaiseiki meals were awesome my kids were asking if could stay longer. Overall a very good experience and the best ryokan we stayed in! If you need to do laundry, there is coin laundry about 5-10 mins walk away. Did I mention? They have a very pretty garden too!

The scenery in the garden was beautiful, especially in the autumn. The food was amazing. Attention from the staff was really good too. I stayed in a private onsen room, the private onsen was very relaxing, very hot so take care.

The food was excellent, the service provided was amazing. Natalie who helped us carry our bags, set up the room and prepare our food gave us the best and most welcoming experienced throughout my whole trip in Japan. The owners were also able to cater to food allergies, slightly later check in time and provided us with extra information for our next part of our trip. Everything about the stay was great with no complains at all, it was really worth the value and I will definitely come back here if I pass by the area during my next trip to Japan.

We had a GREAT experience at Matsusaki. Our assigned staff, "Deepa" was fabulous, making our stay very comfortable in all respects. The entire staff was wonderful. The in-room onsen was amazing, the food was outstanding. We slept on floor futons. The first night was a little hard on my hips, and they obliged us with an extra mat the second night and it was perfect.

The rooms are big and spacious. There was good amount of space for bags and clothes. A nice sun room with a view of the greens and mountains. The onsens are simply relaxing and wonderful.

All the facilities were great. The dinner was a fantastic experience in itself. The staff was exceptional and made everything thing to make us feel welcome. They went above and beyond and made for a fantastic experience, as we were travelling with a 18 month old!
