Plenty of space. Close to World Heritage sites. Excellent communication from owner. Turned out to be a public holiday unknown to us, with traffic jams. Owner arranged for us to check in with a linked accommodation near station (family I think) and we were able to leave our bags there. Maps, helpful suggestions etc. Easy walk to accommodation. Owner popped in later to see everything was OK. Good tip we were given was to go to tourist office at Tobu Nikko station as most people get off train at Nikko station.

The cleanliness, size of apartment & its location to a few of the attractions; it is only a minute's walk to Shinkyo bridge and about 12 minutes to Futarasan shrine. There are a number of restaurants close by to the accommodation. The only downside is they close very early, most by 5pm with some even as early as 3:30pm.

first of all the hosts were super friendly and helpful. we were picked up at the train station and the room was ready really early (on request) so that our little boy could do his daytime nap. the apartment is spacious with 3 rooms (kitchen area, middle room and front room.

Owner was helpful and friendly. Quick response and speaks English. Location was prime, 15 min walk (uphill) to the shrine. Big supermarket is 3 min drive. Free open air car park is about 3-5 min walk, have to unload luggage at roadside (outside the apartment gate) before parking, as the pebbled paths around the car park not suitable to drag the bags. Apartment is clean & good size. Aircon in bedroom works well.

10/10 stay! Thank you so much to the lovely hosts for being so accommodating and friendly. All your suggestions were great on things to do and places to eat. The apartment was great, very close to the shrines and world heritage sites. Walkable distance to food, attractions, etc. The apartment itself was beautifully furnished and traditional. It was lovely having a bit of space. We really appreciate you having us stay! We hope to be back in Nikko in the future :)

We were picked up from the train station by the hostess who is incredibly friendly. She gave us great tips on hikes, restaurants and general tips on what to do and see in Nikko. The apartment itself is spacious, especially when you’re arriving from relatively cramped hotels in cities like Tokyo. Also really liked the traditional Japanese bedroom!

Excellent location, easy to walk to the main temples or take a bus to Lake Chuzenji. The apartment was spacious for 2 and very clean. The land lady was very responsive to our messages.

Fantastic location . You can walk to entrance of temples in about 5 mins. Probably about 20 mins walk to station but buses very frequent. Owner is so helpful and went above and beyond by picking us up at station and allowing us to drop bags off at 11am then could return later in day when cleaners had been in Lots of space for 3people and plenty dishes etc
