There was a kitchen that I can prepare my meal, which was great. Pity they didn't have a toaster. Location was all right. Very much into old Niigata arcade I used to know. Very charming idea to convert a shop to a guest house.

Loved the ghibli decoration. We had 2 rooms, one double private and one single in the mixed dormitory. The 2 toilets and 2 small bathrooms were clean and convenient. There is someone at reception in the afternoons and evenings. She was lovely.

Staff was very nice, also the place has a soul. Ghibli soul. Open space was amazing, and beer that they are selling are good, also rooms are in Japanese style.

A nice little guesthouse in Niigata. This guesthouse is very cute as it's covered in studio ghibli knick knacks. The staff were friendly and the rooms/shower/toilets were nice and clean. Overall decent quality and price for a few nights

The location is nice and the hostel in itself is nice and looks cozy, the bed area is spacious and the bathroom was well equipped.

The location is very nice - in the Furumachi district, close to a lot of Niigata's sights. It is a little far from the train station, though, but there is everything you could need very close to the hostel. Staff was very kind, professional, information was provided in English, too. I appreciate the kitchen - the fridge is big enough, you can use the microwave, water kettle, everything was clean. In addition to the kitchen/lounge, there is also a bar area, where you can also hang out. Overall it has a very cozy, homey feeling. The rooms are actually surprisingly big! It's not really a "capsule" like in the other Japanese hostels, you practically get a very tiny room with just enough space for be, small bedside table, and some hangers. (If you can stand up in it, it's a room! :)) The bathrooms provide everything necessary, they're clean. Only thing is, you have to rent a towel, but that's pretty usual, I think. I will definitely stay at this place again, when life takes me back to Niigata.

I spent two nights in Niigata and opted for this charming little guesthouse. The rooms are a little larger than capsules, but comfortable enough, and all spaces are kept very clean. The guesthouse is filled with Ghibli memorabilia and fun board games, and the neighborhood itself is a cool place to visit. Wish I could have met the dog, Kuku!
