The hotel was so beautiful and truly boutique and felt very cosy and atmospheric amongst the hustle and bustle of Midtown. It's in a brilliant location near the big sights and also Grand Central station, which made it super convenient for sightseeing and general travel. Our room was bigger than I expected, and super clean with nice toiletries. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite, too. I loved that lots of books were available to peruse during our stay, and the lounge available to guests was such a peaceful and enjoyable spot - more books, lots of refreshments available, and very "New York". The hotel is located in the library district, close to the Public Library which is just a 5 min walk away, and near the trail with lots of book-related plaques on the pavement. There's also a restaurant attached to the hotel which serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner (and brunch at the weekend). Would highly recommend this lovely hotel and we would happily stay again!

Great location, 6,000 books, themed rooms, rooftop bar, Reading Room open 24 hours a day & handy for middle of the night zooms with European colleagues when you don’t want to wake your partner - fabulous! We stayed 6 nights.

We had booked a 'deluxe' room and were slightly disappointed by the size of the room we were shown to. Thankfully, the lovely staff at the front desk were able to offer us an upgrade for a couple of nights later, which was a room much more like the one we had hoped for when booking. This is something people staying in hotels in NYC should bear in mind! We really liked the lounge on the second floor, which was open 24 hours a day with water, coffee, etc. And the bar on the top floor was a great place to enjoy a nightcap.
