Perfect location to explore the mountains, Ruapehu, Tongariro & Ngauruhoe! Great views of Mt Ruapehu! Hospitable hostess with an effervescent personality! Perfect for this type of work! Checked in with me to see that I had all that I required!

What can I say.... if I could give 10 stars I would! Little units are scrupulously Clean and very comfortable. Views from the rooms are incredible - all the mountains you could want (a lot from Lord of the Rings), so stunning! However the best thing about this place is Mary, the owner. Mary is one in a million - she cannot do enough for you, even saying to call in the middle of the night if we needed anything, she even lent us her car on our last day so we could discover more beautiful scenery and walks. I would 100% recommend Alpine Chalets if you are staying in National Park.

A great location so close to pub restaurant and shop. Enjoyed the mountain view from our room. Larger than expected room with all necessary facilities.

Great location to the Tongariro National park and all the amazing walks. Shuttle bus pick up was next door for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing walk. Mary and her team were so friendly and couldn’t do anymore to make our stay so amazing.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, providing lots of useful advice (local transport/tour providers etc) by email. They allowed us to check in early and check out late to fit the train times, and also gave us a free upgrade to the top floor room which was large, and had a lovely view out towards the mountains. The room feels a bit dated, but its really very nice, cosy, clean, and has kitchen facilities and a large bathroom. Really enjoyed our stay here!
