Beautiful, calm and peaceful, truly gave us a feel for living in a traditional Japanese house. Everything we could want was there including being able to hire Yukata to relax in. The shared areas work really well, we enjoyed drinking well water and Haruya’s rice porridge 😀

I did like the location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The water hot. Would consider staying again but would choose the very end room and sleep in the 'lounge' area at the rear. Quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

HARUYA Naramachi is a lovely guesthouse in old Japan character and it has new rooms built with traditional feel (tatame mats flooring) also available to book at the rear of the property. An exceptional place, great location and staff.

Great place to stay for a ryokan experience in Nara. There is even an onsen close by, which was very appreciated after a long day of walking. Although I didn’t meet any member of the staff, I had all the information I needed to manage it by myself.

HARUYA NARAMACHI was the most peaceful and healing place I ever stayed at. Everything about it, from the atmosphere to the comfort to the staff, was perfect, immaculate, beautiful. I was sad to leave and will definitely go back. Words cannot describe how much I recommend this place !
