If Kerala is known as “God’s Own Country”, and “Atithi Devo Bhava” means “Guest is God” – a tag line of a campaign in India to treat tourists as God, and to develop a sense of responsibility towards our guests, then Villoonnikal’s needs to be experienced to enjoy both to their maximum. Nestled amidst misty mountains, within a cardamom plantation with a huge variety of fruit trees too, accessed by a comfortable drive through well laid out roads, this compact homestay has it all – 3 comfortable rooms priced reasonably with delicious home-cooked breakfast, dinner on prior request, common kitchen and other facilities, a common dining area surrounded with a wide variety of trees with multiple birds in sight, et al. The photographs displayed are exactly as they exist, without any exaggeration. A walking distance Sunflower plantation, market place with ample daily needs, with restaurants and religious places to ensure such needs get taken care of, not to miss out on the clean, aromatic air that one can breathe in whilst on a walk or run, a toddy outlet within a short driving distance for a much maligned, yet totally refreshing and invigorating morning drink – what more would one hope for. But the icing on the cake is the warmth and hospitality which engulfs you, amply displayed by Grandma, Mom & Dad and their 2 sons, who manage this homestay keeping it spick and span by themselves, with a finesse that any establishment would envy. Hats off to them. Despite other occupations, this loving family spare no efforts in ensuring that their warmth and hospitality remains unrivalled. May God Bless them for the love and concern they display towards their guests, thus ensuring a “Heavenly and Unforgettable” experience for one and all. My wife and I stayed there from 21st – 23rd December 2024 and this break will remain memorable for many years to come.

This property offers authentic local experience of local culture, as guests often stay with local families and get a chance to live along with their daily lives, traditions, and local customs. The rooms are spacious and cozy. Bathroom were super clean. They also offered home-cooked breakfast and dinner which provide a true taste of the Kerala region's cuisine. Also Hosts offered valuable recommendations for local activities, hidden gems, or off-the-beaten-path destinations. Finally, the host’s family is super cool and lovable people. They treat their guests with the utmost care. Thank you so much for your hospitality 😊

It was a great stay. I wish to special mention the hosts (Dad and his 2 sons) , so kind, care and loving. Breakfast was so good on all the 3 days we had.

Everything I loved it as it exceeded my expectations. Owners were very helpful & caring. Room was big and clean. Matress and Beddings were phenomenally good. Small small things have been like utensils, crockery in kitchen. Dinning area. Drinking water. Handwash have been planned very well. Above all view from the room is great and superb.

Best hospitality. Very friendly. The host took care of us in the best possible manner. Value for money. I had suggested them to upgrade to A/c facilities which will get more customers. I recommend this Homestay for spending your vacation.

The hosts were really good. It felt very homely. Breakfast they provided was quite good. They helped to drop the luggage to bus stop. Room and bathroom was quite decent. They recommended a few places to visit.
