This modern Bavarian-style hotel is situated south of the River Isar in Munich, next to Mariahilfplatz square and the German Museum. Just 350 metres from Mariahilfplatz tram stop, it offers good transport connections.
Maria's Platzl offers rooms with satellite TV and a private bathroom. Rooms offer a view of the Mariahilfkirche (church) or the inner courtyard.
The Wirtshaus Ayinger in der Au is a rustic-style tavern offering traditional beers and Bavarian cuisine. The design combines modern and traditional style elements and features a copper-plated bar with open and visible cooled wooden barrels, wood cladding as well as traditional wall coverings and wall paintings.

The staff was very nice, a the premises had very much Bavarian feeling. The bed was comfortable l. The restaurant was also quite good, however slightly pricy.

The pub downstairs was great - except it is closed Monday and Tuesday so we only got to experience it Sunday evening. Otherwise, there is not much around this hotel (restaurants, takeaway, supermarkets) to enable casual eating. Location was ok, but the other Hotel Platz in the old town is much better placed for tourists. We only came across that one when we went into the CBD. A relatively easy three stop trip on the bus into the old town.

Comfortable, calm, good restaurant, small Biergarten for the warmer months. My preferred location in the Au because it is calm but close to good restaurants and easy access to the old town by bus or walking. I always stay at Marias Platzl when visiting Munich.

Room was pleasant, although not the biggest. But was comfortable for two. Nice shower and nicely decorated. Location was reasonable, just outside of centre. Within walking distance.
