I booked for one night and I finally stayed for 5. You can just rent a bike and explore the island without moving to another location/hotel. I felt more comfortable staying in the main city, having an AC room (is very hot these days and you need that), in a quiet place with many restaurants around you that you can visit in the evening and explore new places every day. The owner is a very nice person, I can definitely recommend to stay here if you will visit Ometepe!

Casa de Gio was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, even storing our motorbike for us in the garage despite the fact that we hired it from the town and not the hostel. The kitchen was well equipped and tidy and filtered water was freely available. The hammocks were comfortable and there were fly screens on the windows, so the room was cool enough to sleep in at night with just the fan on. They charge extra for aircon but we didn’t need it. The location is conveniently close to the ferry.

Absolutely wonderful hosts to stay with. Really lovely couple with beautiful family! The location is perfect, just at the edge of the town, you can walk in to the restaurants and bars in 5 minutes. They provided us with a mini motorcycle for the day which we used to explore the island. The room was very comfortable and such a good price. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely stay at Casa de Gio, we extended our stay to 3 nights. The room is comfortable and very clean, bathroom is fine. Cold shower but honestly you only want a cold shower cause it's so hot. You can spend an extra $10 USD per night for use of the aircon but we were fine with a fan. Loved the hammock outside the room for relaxation. The location is great with a supermarket close to town. We recommend Cornerhouse for a coffee or smoothie!

Super comfortable room and particularly loved the hammocks and seating they put around the hostel courtyard. Shared kitchen was very well equipped. Location is one street off the main strip but location was still good and all very walkable. The staff were wonderful going above and beyond. One staff member had their wedding the day I checked out (congrats again) and they were closing. They let me keep my luggage in reception and let myself in to get it later that day - so kind.
