The reviews about the lack of cleanliness prepared us for the worst, but it really wasn't that bad. In fact, we really enjoyed our stay! It is a castle that you get to stay in for a low price, after all. It's a bit like staying at your ancient French grandmother's castle who does the housekeeping herself and doesn't quite see the dust on the plumbing any longer. By the way, we booked a room that said "shared bathroom" but it wasn't shared, it was for us to use exclusively, so that's cool as well.

The hosts were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The building is beautifully jaded, spacious and clean. We only stayed for one night but it was perfect for our family (with teenage sons and dog).

Very nice feel to the place. Mattress brilliant and comfortable. Very quiet. Nice old, grand chateau.

Huge suite of rooms, old style castle, enchanting ! Own kitchen. Very welcoming of dogs. Secure parking on site in shade and in view of room. Big comfy beds. very quiet and peaceful. 20 min walk into La Bouille on the riverfront. Lidl 2mins drive. Pizza booth 200m away. Lots of garden seating for warm evenings overlooking the river... 2 mins drive off the motorway.
