The guesthouse is set in an idyllic rural village that feels like another world, more tropical and green than the west side of Kili, and the hikes and walks available are stunning. Also the verandah and roof terrace provide perfect spots for lazy days getting lost in a book or enjoying the view across the foothills. This place is quite unique - comfortable food and lodging, unique rural setting, and much more authentic than all the ‘Safari style lodges’ around the country.

If you are looking for a place located away from the hustle and bustle of the city with a beautiful view of KILI where you can relax and regenerate - this is the right place. The owner and staff of the guesthouse make every effort to make you feel special. The calmness of the location right next to Kilimanjaro is top! The staff were super friendly and kind. The chef and the food are amazing too. No mosquitoes is AMAZING and made the stay very nice too.

The staff were super nice, friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked into the house - we were greeted with a fresh juice and they were always around for any requests we had throughout the whole stay there. The breakfast and dinner, served by the lovely Janet who was always smiley, were so tasty and allowed us to get a taste for the local cuisine. The place is overall nice (especially with the view of Kilimanjaro) but what made it special was the people working there and the fact that they made us feel like home and ensured any activities we did were providing us with an authentic experience within the small but cosy Shimbwe village. We particularly liked the hike to the waterfalls with Jastin and the amazing coffee experience where we sang, danced and laughed while preparing our own coffee with the locals - a moment we will cherish for years to come! We loved our stay there and would highly recommend!

The location is stunning, set in forested valleys around Chagga homestead. Views of Kilimanjaro, and I even saw a bushbaby in the tree at dusk. The staff, especially Janet and Justin made my stay exceptional. Justin took me on a walk around the area and his knowledge of Chagga history and customs is very interesting as is his knowledge of local plants and their uses. Janet was kind and helpful throughout and invited me to her family celebration. The food is fantastic, freshly prepared.

Nice remote spot with a nice, comfortable and relaxing environment. Plenty to do if you like or just relax. Staff and neighbours about town are very friendly and accommodating. Awesome place to explore.

ASANTE SANA!!!! A hidden gem!! We really felt like we visit friends, right from the beginning! The staff is soo lovely, helpful and funny. We laughed a lot with all of you :) The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy, the food was delicious...and way too much ;) A perfect place for relaxing, surrounded by beautiful nature around, the view to Kili- Awesome! We will miss you Beatus, Janet, Justin, Baraka and all the others 🤗

The location was great they had provided binoculars and a telescope to view the wildlife from the communal balcony. The staff were great we did a lovely hike with Justin to the falls. Just a nice place within the hills set within the community

We really loved the immersion into the the Chagga village and how we got to know more about the culture
