“Cosy Hilltop Stay with Local Charm at Casas da Lu”

We absolutely loved our stay at Casas da Lu! The self-service accommodation was perfect for feeling right at home, with a cosy kitchen and lounge thoughtfully designed within 30 sq. meters. The local shops nearby made it super easy to grab essentials like coffee and supplies, and we appreciated the starter toilet roll and the Brazilian-style drip coffee maker. AC, Ceiling fan and Wifi worked well. The location was fantastic—tucked away in a friendly local community on top of the hill. It offered the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat at night and a lively daytime vibe with neighbourhood bustle. The proximity to shops, restaurants, and the beach made exploring on foot a breeze. While the 240 steps to the beach and town added a bit of exercise to our routine, the November weather was mild, making it enjoyable. The property was impeccably clean, with simple, modern decor that felt fresh and inviting. Though there isn’t a view directly from the house, a short walk to the nearby steps revealed breathtaking scenery. We also appreciated Lucilene’s hospitality—she helped us arrange convenient transfers with Cassi Turismo and personally guided us to the property when we arrived, ensuring a smooth check-in experience. Overall, we were very comfortable and had a wonderful time. A couple of small improvements—like a clothing rack for drying clothes and addressing a slight sewage smell from the bathroom drain—would make an already great experience even better. We would have also liked a toilet hose / douche spray like in other areas of Brazil, but nowhere had these in the Morro de Sao Paolo area, so we assumed it to be a norm in the town. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cosy, home-like stay in a charming neighbourhood!
