We loved being surrounded by nature , trying to spot all the forests little critters. The hosts live on the property and are very friendly and are quick to offer up suggestions or any help we needed. The living room and kitchen area was plenty big enough for our group of 5 to relax at the end of the day. Just a short drive to town . Restaurant in a hotel across the street if you did want food. We would absolutely return if we stayed in monteverde again!

The perfect little cabin in the rainforest! Basic but perfectly comfortable. absolutely wonderful friendly host - we were especially grateful he helped when the airline lost our luggage. perfectly located for the national park.

Hospadeja Mariposa was a wonderful, simple place to stay in Monteverde. The room was clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced. The location is right by the cloud rainforest reserve. We were so lucky to see a family of monkeys on the property!

We loved our room and it had a decking area to relax out on too. A short walk to the Cloud Forest and easy to go to places by taxi or bus. We wished we could have stayed a couple more nights here, it was even better than we expected. The staff were kind and really helpful with advice. We would come back 🥰

Great place to stay near Monteverde Cloud Forest if you are looking for the best value for your money. Esteban is a great and helpful host. Hospedaje Mariposa is a special place with a great feeling of being close to nature. Please note that no meals are included here and the quality of the food served by the hotel across the street is quite poor compared to all the other options nearby so choose your restaurants wisely. For example you could drive down to El Bosque just a mile down the road for an excellent meal and treatment.

This is a beautiful apartment between the trees. You can see some animals, and it feels very rustic. Unfortunately we stayed way too short. We’re a family with kids and the kids had their own bedroom with bathroom.

This is an absolutely lovely accommodation, a real find. The owners are absolutely lovely and helpful, it is located as close to the Monteverde Reserve as you can possibly get to and within idyllic surroundings. It is quiet and all you can hear is bird song and frogs calling. Our kids were delighted to have been visited by a Cuati on our patio (don’t feed them!). We were made to feel very welcome by the owners who live on site. They allowed us to leave our luggage safely in the reception area (also serves as living room). The apartment was super clean and for a family of 5 it was super nice. There are 2 separate bedrooms rooms with en-suite bathrooms, a large open space kitchen, dining and living room area with an additional sofa bed (very comfortable after a day of hiking). The kitchen is very well equipped and we saved some money by cooking our own breakfast and dinner (although you can go across the road to another hotel if you fancy buying breakfast instead). The place feel really safe, but for additional safety there is a safe in one of the bedrooms. A supermarket is 5 min by car. We loved it and would definitely stay here again. The apartment was large and spacious. There is a huge living room with a lot of lighting. There was light in the room until sunrise even though the room is located in the jungle. There was also a baking oven, a cooking stove and all the things that could allow cooking and baking like at home. The location near the "cloud forest" and the owner of the house (I forgot his name) really helped us to find our way around the sites and restaurants.
