Great central location, between the boardwalk and the train station. Pedestrian walkway starts where the hotel is. Breakfast was an added bonus.

Hotel Paiva is very well located. It's relatively small and it doesn't have a swimming pool, but it's very comfortable, super clean (they change everything in the bathroom every single day). They provide a very good breakfast, with a relatively average amount of variety of items, but very high quality. You can taste that the fruit, the bread, the cheese are picked up with care by someone who knows what they are doing. The staff is very friendly, and so despite the lack of some higher luxury commodities (like the pool), I would say it's a very good value for the money.

Montegordo is a tourist town and not really to our liking but it has many hotels and this one is on the edge of 'tourist central' and is surprisingly quiet. Short walk to restaurants, bars, cafés, mini mercados and beach though. Free parking out front is a huge plus in a town where parking is scarce. Mind you, I think you have to pay during high season and free parking only begins early September from what we know. Hotel may have some reserved spaces though but you would have to ask the hotel in advance if that is the case. We were allocated Room 201 which was huge, entrance lobby, bedroom, and large bathroom. On a corner of the building so you get a balcony on 2 sides. Breakfast is good and freshly squeezed fruit juices are a plus. Wi-fi was pretty good.

Close to beaches, cafes, restaurants etc. Spacious room with king size bed.

Nice breakfast, definitely bigger choice than expected ! We got upgraded to a bigger room by a very pleasant man working on the front desk when we arrived which was a nice surprise. There is a balcony in the room
