The monastery is as gorgeous as its surroundings, with a handful of picturesque landscapes. The team has probably done quite an enormous job of restoring and preserving the monastery and was able to convert it into a hotel naturally. The hotel is also an art gallery with hundreds of works, including some acknowledged authors. There are a lot of works worth seeing. There's also a museum and a chapel. Outside, you could find sheep and ancient monuments. There a few great restaurants nearby. Overall, it's a nice place to stay for a short period, but some limitations naturally occur because it's more of a monastery than a usual hotel building.

The room was very comfortable and the staff was always extremely nice and attentive. The convent itself is beautiful, and it's very close (by car) to Monsaraz and the Alqueva lake beach. There are many restaurants in the area, and we got great recommendations from the staff.

We went hot air ballooning and it was perfect as we took off from the parking lot. They were very accommodating with our late check in. Breakfast had a good selection.
