Quaint old building repurposed into a hotel. Good free parking in front of the hotel. Really warm and cosy. Good dinner, wine was good too.

Ive stayed here before and it was wonderful. The venue itself is lovely, the setting gorgeous, and on other ocassions my rooms have been wonderful and my stay really very enjoyable. This time however, the manager was away and whilst the staff left were nice and trying hard to cope they were really very young, and hugely inexperienced. They simply didn't have a cllue about how their back of house ysstems worked, let alone how to handle paying guests wanting to get unloaded, fed and to bed. They were very, very stressed - almost in tears at times, and as a result, so were many of the guests! For me the menu is also quite quite bizarre, offering a complex fusion menu of main courses featuring combinations I've never quite understood nor tried as a result. There are no light meals, small plates or salad / soup / cheese / tapas standards. If eating here, be ready for a challenging menu as well as what can only be a Michelin starred chef. Its also a drive to anywhere else, so make sure you eat before you arrive or are ready to enjoy a formal meal. The wine and bar selection is good though, and despite the menu, the staff have always been keen to find a happy altnerative when they had time. Not in this case though. Becaiuse Ive been before and konw this has never been my experience previously, Id give it another try because it can be absolultely great. We all have bad days and maybe it was just one of those.

Stylish, relaxed and creative environment. Lovely bed, bedroom and room. Friendly, warm and committed staff team who really couldn't do enough for their guests.

Location was perfect for our travel back to the uk, just off the motorway very quiet and very pleasant it’s shouldn’t be a 2 star it should be 3 star + in my eyes lovely staff and great hotel.
