This charming guest house is located in the town of Mittenwald, a 15-minute drive from Elmau Castle. It offers traditional rooms, a restaurant with entertainment and an outdoor café.
The Alpenrose dates from the 13th century and features a Medieval-style façade. All rooms at the Alpenrose feature cable TV and a private bathroom with shower.
The Alpenrose restaurant serves international and Bavarian specialities. Traditional music evenings are held here regularly.
The nearby Karwendelbahn Cable Car takes guests to the top of the Karwendel Mountains. In winter, there is a local bus to nearby ski resorts. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a 20-minute drive away.

The host is super nice and gentle. We were welcomed with a warm greet and a sekt. There is a restaurant in the hotel and it serves authentic bavarian cuisine.

It was rustic and had a great local vibe - esp during the evening. The staff was super nice. The breakfast was only 5 euros with a variety. As a vegetarian also i could enjoy. The hotel and the room was cozy - with minibar and coffee machine in the room.

Convenient location Friendly staff Having come from a small, makeshift room in Innsbruck the decent-sized bedroom with balcony was a relief! Little things matter too - ante-room (corridor) and double-doors to reduce noise from hallway all help. Free minibar with Augstiner - amazing Excellent restaurant downstairs Only downside is that it was tad noisy at night as it's party season in Mittenwald and locals would walk past and shout, deliveries would come in, but not really anything the hotel can do about this. And it wasn't THAT noisy.

At an additional cost of 5 Euros per day overall breakfast was excellent. Our only complaint was that upon occasion the buffet ran out of certain options eg. Yoghurts and/or fruit salad. Our evening meals were excellent - good portions of wholesome food with friendly staff only too keen to help. It was lovely to have a meal accompanied with traditional Bavarian music on accordion and guitar.

Good location in center of the old town. Very easy to walk around nearby and the ground floor is the traditional cousine restaurant.

Exceptional. Staying at this hotel felt like a trip back in time (in a good way) - it felt like a cosy lovely tavern from the past, where you can get a hearty meal, be greeted by a lovely family and get a warm bath after a walk under the rain in the Alps. Everything was perfect and like in a Milka commercial. Would love to come back.

Great location with free parking in the middle of town. Excellent welcoming staff. Excellent restaurant. Rooms are a good size and come with a nespresso machine for coffee and drinks in the mini bar.
