Honestly, this is the best place I have ever stayed. There is literally nothing to complain about! Every single staff member went above and beyond, were so amazingly friendly and sincere. We stayed in one of the huts, which was enormous. There was even a fully stocked kitchen, which was great for making lunch. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was also spacious and it was so quiet and serene. The pool area was also another amazing aspect of this place. Always clean and calm. We found out that there was actually only 3 huts and 3 rooms above the main building, which meant that at times, you felt like you had the whole place to your self. As others have mentioned, it is a 15 minute walk to the beach - but that is not a problem at all. You can even catch a free tuk tuk to the main road, if you're too lazy to walk ;-) The breakfast was also delicious, and I swear, the man at breakfast makes the absolute best omelette I have ever had! Lahiru, Milan, the kind kind man at breakfast (I am so sorry, I forgot your name) and all the other staff was brilliant - thank you SO much! Please do yourself a favor and book this place - I promise, you will not regret it!

Really good time here! All were really kind and helped you with all (tuk tuk, restaurants - no 1 Rice and Kottu, activities and so on) The bungalow was amazing, and their Mango Jam delectable!!

Beautiful hotel, pool area spotless. Gardens you walk through are stunning. Clean room with large comfortable bed. Staff were amazing - Lihero was so accessible via WhatsApp and arranged tuktuks for free to main road and gave many good recommendations. Free tea always available. You are welcome to stay after check out if not leaving til later in the day. Very quiet and peaceful.

The stay was amazing, the staff were so helpful! Arranging the whale watching tour for us etc and even letting us have a late breakfast after it! The breakfast was amazing, they make their own jam which was truly incredible and I bought 2 jars! I'll be sad once I've ate it all! The pool was perfect, and the free water was good near the pool. And the free tea and coffee throughout the day was a nice touch along with the cake! A nice touch they also arrange a free tuk tuk between 10am-7pm to the main road which is then walkable distance back to the hotel!

We had the most delightful and memorable stay at D Canal House. All the staff were super friendly, generous and went above and beyond to make our trip special - particular shout out to Priyankara, Lahiru, and Milan, all of whom took special care of us. We were blown away with the hospitality. The breakfast was so delicious and throughout the day there is still water, coffee, tea and a yummy cake available. Priyankara cook the tastiest bacon we have ever had outside of the UK! Our room was clean; with good air conditioning and water pressure; comfy bed; lovely design and furniture; and a big balcony overlooking the pool. The outside area was tranquil with so much greenery and a big/clean pool that we thoroughly enjoyed using throughout our stay. They offer free Tuk Tuks to the main road in town until 7 pm but you could also walk (around 10-15 mins). Overall, it’s the best place I’ve stayed in a long while (and the best in Sri Lanka), and I highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Mirissa. We will definitely be back in the near future!

D Canal House is in a beautiful tropical garden .. away from the bustle of Mirissa. . It is next to a canal & jungle area.. so you hear the wonderful birdlife & monkeys . The staff were friendly & helpful . The breakfast buffet were a delicious mix of Sri Lankan or western food . The pool was amazing and a great way to cool off . I would recommend it .

This place is incredible, from the host and staff to the accommodation, do not hesitate to book! The breakfast is the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka and the gentleman who served us was just lovely! This place deserves 5 starts and some. The grounds and the wildlife were beautiful and will definitely return.

The stay was perfect. All the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was fresh and they even had homemade fruit jams. The hotel is away from the busy main areas and is a tropical paradise. The pool is so clean and refreshing. The room was amazing, comfy bed, nice bathroom and overlooking the pool. We had a trip booked which was before the breakfast time but the staff put breakfast out for us early. The property is surrounded by nature, birds of all kinds and monkeys were climbing in the trees. Would love to visit again one day!

Beautiful grounds, room and pool - such a peaceful place, and every part of this Boutique hotel was beautifully designed. Breakfast overlooking the canal/ river was gorgeous. Staff were really friendly and helpful. One of the best places of our trip, couldn’t recommend enough!
