The location was good, with access to main parts of town. The area is generally considered safe due to schools and the university in the neighborhood. Overall, the hotel is good enough for solo travellers.

Not downtown, but not suburbs either - This is an area called Near West right across from the Ambassador Hotel and just west of Marquette University ; a recently refurbished hotel so everything is brand new; excellent breakfast with plenty of choices; I would stay here again, based on what I paid
