Very nice & comfy rooms and common areas! Very friendly owners! We had a nice stay, it was only for one night :) We especially like that it was warm (nights can be very cold during winter ...)

Monte da Eirinha is great value. A quinta (old farmhouse) in a small village in a quiet and unspoilt off-the-beaten-track part of Portugal. The sort of place that existed before the days of mass tourism. You can see the stars at night, see flocks of storks circling in the heat of the day and hear the bullfrogs croaking at dusk. Nothing better than a swim in the pool after a day's adventure. Just 15 minutes drive away is the amazing small hilltop fortified town of Mertola a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The local council manages very successfully several sites spanning the town's Roman, Islamic and Christian history. The Espaço Casa Amarela restaurant has wonderful views across the Guadiana River to Mertola old town and its castle. A real romantic venue as the sun sets. Not much more expensive than the "standard" restaurants with unusual menu options and friendly staff.
