Our place was down the street from the main house. We loved having breakfast (in a basket) brought to our room each day and eating on the back porch with a distant view of the ocean. We enjoyed our room and the staff was great. Each night there had a happy hour at the main house with wine, fruit, cheeses and crackers. It was delightful.

Enjoyed being upgraded to larger room. Wine and cheese at Blue Door Inn was excellent. Staff very friendly. Location of Packard House is close to art galleries, shops, and restaurants, as well as the coastal path and the wild Pacific Ocean. Added bonus: a spouting whale.

We LOVED our stay in Mendocino. We stayed at the Blue Door Inn, and from the moment we arrived we fell in love with it. It's a beautiful house from the outside, and even more beautiful on the inside. Check in was simple and easy, with very friendly staff. The room 'Buckingham' was just beautiful. Furnished nicely, huge comfortable bed, 2 comfy chairs in the room, an amazing bath and soft cosy robes in the room. They even provided us a kettle for our room upon request. The breakfast is delivered to your door in the morning (8:30) and consisted of eggs/grits, yoghurt parfait, a pumpkin bread and coffee. The common areas downstairs feel just like a beautiful home, really, we can't recommend this place highly enough, we wish we would have stayed more than 1 night.
