What a find in Matsumoto! Friendly staff, great area downstairs with a bar and fireplace, a communal table with a kotatsu. Close to the castle. Such a cute place!

The hostel is great, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is exptional five minutes walking from the Matsumoto Castle, very easy to walk through the city which is very cute. Thank you.

I had an incredible stay at this cosy hostel! The atmosphere is super inviting, especially with the fireplace adding that perfect touch of warmth and comfort. The staff were absolutely amazing—friendly, helpful, and always ready with great local tips. The common area was a highlight too—spacious, well-designed, and perfect for meeting fellow travelers or just relaxing after a day out. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a homey vibe and great company!

One of the friendliest staff I have met! They welcomed us very warmly every time we entered and saw us off too. The bar is super cozy with the fireplace and everything is really clean.

Staff were great. Very social atmosphere. Loved the bar and kotatsu. Could chat to host and guests. Very cosy vibe in winter. Facilities were good and very clean. Short walk to Matsumoto Castle, loved being able to take a stroll there whenever. Easy access to Matsumoto Station and the restaurant areas too.

The place is very comfy and sizeable, no matter the bedroom or common area on the ground floor. My favourite part of this hostel is having wood elements everywhere, and there is a fireplace at the centre of the common area! The decorations are nice and cute. I also feel very safe staying here as a solo female traveller. They have lock on at the entrance of woman's shared room and toilets and bathroom for ladies only. Last but not least, the staff are nice and helpful while could be communicate in English, very nice!

Tabi- Shiro is a very lovely place to stay! The staff is amazing, and it's less than a 5 mn walk to the castle! The bar in Tabi-Shiro is also a very nice spot to meet people.
