The building is outstanding and full of history. Our room was VERY spacious with a view to the road outside. The bed and furniture were all solid wood, very old and squeaky 😁 which you 3xpect in a building of this age. The bar was a little pricey for a yorkshireman, and we found the restaurant menu limited, but overall, we would definitely book again.

A little gem. We really enjoyed our stay great location for some excellent walks The food in the restaurant was excellent real good plate of food Katie in particular was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this hotel

Our room was lovely and the bed was so comfy. The staff were all so friendly and and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent

Beautiful big lovely clean room, four poster bed absolutely comfortable as any bed we've ever slept in in our lives !!. The food was really nice although it did take a while , the staff are really nice and friendly . The only negative I can say about the property is the location with it being quite far away from matlock it's self we decided to walk the distance because it was a nice day but I ended up with with aches and pains I never knew existed, but on the whole the hotel is a beautiful place to stay and we would definitely stay there again
