Stuff are super friendly, he took us to our room and explained where to visit in Matera also where to go for foods. The hotel has an outstanding view, highly recommended!

It was a wonderfully unique experience in the Hotel, The rooms remind you of the old city, an example of what It may have been like in the Caves. The location allows you to step right out and explore all Matera has to offer.

We arrived in Matera by Private Car and were able to drive and arrive right outside the hotel, no issues during the day around 2-4pm parking (The area becomes a closed off restricted zone at 8.30pm, to midnight) an overnight parking garage is 100 metres up the road, easy to get in, use and get out) Well what can we say, met at reception by the very excellent english speaker David who upgraded our room on request to a suite, and charged us a minimal fee, took our bags and showed us the procedure getting through a locked gate to our room and the terrace ! wow this is the VIEW you wanted right, James Bond fans, No time to die will love this view, its perfect you can do quite alot of walking around, but I used the car to drive around the narrow roads in Matera, got out on several occasions and took photos, the old caves are interesting as this is the 3rd oldest city in the world, goes back thousands of years, the staff at hotel were great, brought us drinks to the terrace, where we sat and watched the sunset, easy walk as well from the back of the hotel to the old town, lots of places to eat, drink etc, and a nice touch, David put a bottle of red wine in room, plus drinks in fridge at no extra cost, all in all what more can you ask for, great stay, and best view.... what I like about this hotel is that prior to arriving we received great emails in english telling us what to do where to go, with parking options - it was also clear and easy to follow best of luck, you will not be regret it, forgot to add breakfast in the morning was great, an Italian style offering, and even pizza, you name it they had it.

Absolutely amazing! The view is stunning, the staff is so friendly and kind. The room is very clean and warm, bed is comfortable, just a very, very nice room. The breakfast is great as well. Location is perfect, everything is close-by. We would stay there again!

Everything was just perfect! Our room was avalable ealier - so we could alreday unpack. Breakfast in the morning is really delicious with fresh made coffee and hot croissants!! Even I will not mention the view which is spectacular! and really 5 min to the city center. We loved everything.

Il Belvedere has a stunning view from the Terrace - possibly one of the best in Matera. Breakfast sitting there was a complete joy. The breakfast itself was excellent and the view ….! The staff were lovely and the Tom was very comfortable with excellent Air Con. I would go back tomorrow. There was also an excellent car park a few hundred meters away for €10 a day. Perfect.
